Quiet in here

Im gassed for Grouse this year. I have two weekend trips planned with friends and I haven done that since before covid.

Glad to hear the grouse numbers are solid. Heading to the cabin next couple of weekends, will take a few walks in the woods.

Last weekends temps would have been fantastic for opening weekend. Looks like we get summer style hunting for this opener. I will probably just do chores. Maybe get out for a walk or do some scouting.

Just signed up to run my older dog for a youth pheasant hunt the weekend before opener. Hoping it isn’t as hot as last year. Great way to see what kind of shape he’s in. Hoping to run the new pup next year.

I think he’s talking about South Dakota. They have one before their regular pheasant opener.

It’s a gamefarm deal through my Pheasants Forever chapter. Should have specified. Not a state sponsored thing.

Well, I’ve heard several flushes on first walk. Dogs are getting tired out and that’s what matters

Can’t wait for October.

I was busy so only got out for an hour. Got 2 which was shocking but my heart wasn’t in it with the high temps. Did bump a mega covey with at least a dozen birds. I only got one out of that group. Just didn’t feel like killing.

I don’t hunt and I hate this heat too. REAL fall is way too short.

Flushed a couple grouse on Saturday, never saw them though. We need to loose some leaves, thick yet.
