I was up at Winnie the last couple days, just wanted to share a quick report. The ice in Tamarack bay was about 8″, but deteriorating pretty badly in some spots on Wednesday. As of a day ago the resorts on the bay were not letting anyone out of their shoreline, but there are a couple spots to access on the east side. We were basically the only house off the eastern shoreline of the bay (tried 10′- 16′, set up in 11) and didnt catch a single walleye that afternoon/evening which was pretty surprising/disappointing.

We went out of Highbanks the next afternoon, they have a nice staked road out a mile or so which got us out on Tamarack Bar. Another slow night for us with just a 23″ along with a few narrow misses. The ice did seem more consistent than in Tamarack Bay.
Overall a fun trip, but of course we had hoped to put more walleyes on the ice.
