this past week I have been able to get out and do some pitching and some handlining….
Water temps have been like a rollercoaster !!! Upper 40’s then back down to the lower 40’s…

Pitching current seams with a VMC Moon Eye jig and a BfishN Tackle Firecracker Chart Tail Ring Worm helped put this spawned out female in the boat for me…

And pulling wire with a Rapala J-7 Perch was the hot color for some male action as well… Fish Fry !!!

Nice fish Dave! Gotta love the firecracker chartreuse combo. Seems like it works all up and down the river. I would love to get a pic of how you have your handline reels mounted in your boat. That is something I’ve wanted to try for years but can’t quite get my head around how I would make it work in my boat.

I run a alumacraft full windshield and just have them in my front ram holders, this is how most people run them some people have fancy extensions so cable doesn’t rub boat side.

    Casey,
Back when we filmed this show we rigged up James’s Skeeter with the reels… they are a bit to far back for me.. I run a Ranger 619 and I have them in front of the windshield… They are mounted right on the ram rod holder base.. yes. .the cable rubs on the boat, but it’s plastic coated and there is zero marks on the boat from the cable….

I’ll see if I can find a photo and post it up here…
