Anyone have one? I’ve always liked the idea of them for camping trips, fishing trips, general use, etc.

I see Up North Sports out of Bemidji has them on sale, so might be the time to grab one.

Curious if anyone here has one and would recommend. Not much worse than dealing with those pesky bugs.

A buddy has one and we have used it while camping on an island in Canada for several years. The one year it took a ride when a storm came up and blew it a hundred feet away or so because its a nightmare to tie it down with all the canadian shield rock on the island. Otherwise its been great.

I own and love one. Have used it the last few years on our spring canada fishing trip. The first year we brought it with we ended up having to use it as our sleeping tent. Fishing partner forgot the poles to the sleep tent. It actually worked much better to sleep in than we thought it would. Last year we actually got to use it for its intended use – Eating and hanging out in to get away from the bugs. It was Great. My buddy said it was the best addition to our trip in a lot of years.

Yep, I also make a trip up to Canada every summer and am thinking it would be great for that. Then add in a couple camping trips a summer and I will be happy with the purchase. Thanks for the feedback gents

I have had mine for 2 summers and yep love mine. I hate bug spray and it does well to keep the sun and the rain off of you also. Under less than ideal conditions it surely makes your outings more enjoyable.

I purchased some of the add on wind panels (I believe that is what they call them) last spring but I have not used them yet.

Chris Granrud promotes them often. In fact he had a video on FB this morning setting one up.

I’ve had a Clam Pavilion for 5/6 years now and will not go to Voyageurs boat camping without it. It works great. Yes shield lakes can be an issue, I have used large rocks to anchor the wind tie outs at times if a stake can’t be used.

I have had the roof collapse twice during torrential downpours on Namakan, so now if it gets super nasty with heavy rain I will ride it out in the hub just to make sure. I am talking horrible thunderstorms here tho, and hail in one of them.

Love the roll up wind/rain panels.

Not sure if the model but I have the one that has a floor you can put in it and close up the screens so you can use it as a tent. Thought I’d use it way more than we do but the few times we’ve used it it seems very nice. I see they make an actual traditional camping tent version now too.

These look nice. How big of one would be recommended? Not sure how I haven’t seen these ones before.

I can relate. The lake we camp at in canada is almost impossible to get a stake into the ground. Each site is pea gravel, but everything a inch or so below is solid rock. I’m happy if we can just get a stake in 1 or 2 corners

Mine is the Pavilion model that is 6 sided and has the wind panels. I also purchased the floor for my model. Have yet to use the floor with it yet. The year we has to use it as our sleeping tent for the week the floor would have been really nice. We simply rolled out the sleep tent that we forgot the poles for and sleep on that. I would not get one without the wind panels.

We picked one up this summer on some crazy sale price through Blain’s Farm and Fleet. We got the Quickset Venture 5-sided. It’s been a game change for us for camping. Fast and easy to set up. Looking at the wind panels for this season. For my wife and I, and maybe two more people, it’s great.
