The bite has been steady for the past couple of days. Yesterday most boats reported catching between 10 and 20 fish. Not hot and heavy but enough to keep them interested. As the day starting to wind down those who stayed out close to sunset were treated with a flurry of action. One boat landed 14 “nice fish” in the last hour of daylight.
Most of the fish are being caught on plastics. Moxis, Ringworms and Fluke style baits all three are producing. Both vertical jigging and dragging are catching fish, the only prerequisite is to fish slow, very slow.
Good luck to all of you who head out. Water clarity is about 3.5′ and the flow is moderate. Ramps are open and the river is ice free (today at least).
