I’ll live near the river and and am wondering about shore fishing below the dam right now , i know the signs down there say no fishing within 300 feet below the dam between march and April . So is it ok to fish right below the dam right now in February or do they want u out of there now too?

Boats still will need to say 150′ down stream of the dam, but shore fishing closer is ok…for the next 5 days.
Assuming you are talking about Lock and Dam #3 on the Mississippi River.

I was fishing Alma dam one fine day in April a few years ago and watched as a group of people showed up after crossing the dike on the Minnesota side. It didn’t take but a couple minutes before a pair of WI c/os came along across the top of the dam and paid them a visit, just about the same time as a c/o from MN showed up on an atv.
They really do enforce that rule.
