If you pick a candidate and say they are Republican for the president can you vote for someone for Senate etc from the democratic party? Not into politics just curious if its true they omit all ballots with mixed party voting?

Interesting. I did not know that was the case. I guess it makes sense for primaries, in case people are crossing over and voting “mischievously.”

there’s a reason for that I’m not 100% sure of but I think it has something to do with how the parties run there candidates. By that I mean one party can’t decide the outcome of a primary contest when 2 candidates are running to get on the general election ballot. If that makes sense.

yes, vote for the one that you think will best represent the issues that are important to you, More people should vote this way instead of straight party lines. I’m still amazed of the number of people that vote for one party just because grandpa and grandma, mom and dad always voted for a certain party no matter what.

There was a time not long ago I would have 100% agreed with you on this. It’s getting tougher and tougher to not vote straight down one party line these days. The reason is that the government itself has started to act that way. It a rare thing these days to see a politician cross party lines these days when it come to them voting on things.

One last day for people to realize the democratic party is pure evil. Especially the candidates for President. If Trump hurts your feelings that much dont vote for him. Just dont vote for the commies.

I think both parties are getting close to the pure evil status. I hope someday there will be a viable third party, or no parties at all rather than this broken political system that just grinds on and on and on.

Term limits would be a great start.

Better to love America and vote for Don than hate America and vote for the lying, hiding, corrupt Biden! Do you really think you will be able to hunt or fish if the socialists come into power?

Yes it is. Better than being a main stream media groupie and following them and the dems to socialism hell. For christ sake at least run two people who are remotely qualified for the position so its not so obvious someone else owns both of them. Anyways I sure hope they lose. If not the sun will rise tomorrow and we’ll all find out what happens.

Canada has more of a social safety net than we do. Therefore a vote for more of a social safety net will result in fishing/hunting exactly like it is in Canada!! Vote Biden for bigger and more plentiful walleye and deer.

What are you doing bringing common sense and rational thinking into politics? Like many others, I consider myself pretty smack dab in the middle of the left vs right and I think that’s where a third party candidate needs to come into play.

What you are likely to see is a bunch of folks saying “ah the hell with it” and not voting at all. There isn’t a 1/1000th degree of separation between either one of them where it comes to honesty & ethics.

Very sorry state of affairs for this country right now.

I’m more than ready for all this BS to come to a end. What ever way it goes life will go on. The sad thing is we cant change the outcome for 4 years from this election if it all goes terribly bad. I truly feel the current political system is failing the American people big time. At some point the current system will need to be blown up and a new system put into place.

I forgot, using the presidency to funnel money to your failing businesses and family is perfectly cool and legal, no corruption there at all.

For christ sake at least run two people who are remotely qualified for the position so its not so obvious someone else owns both of them.

Uhhh.. you’re voting again for a reality TV “star”

    Mike

A reality TV star or a Senile Career Politician – You tell me what one is Worse. Biden does not have the mental faculty to make proper decisions for 4 years. People voting for him better realize that Kamala Harris will most likely being serving as president for most of this 4 year term. Keep in Mind Harris was ranked as the most Liberal Member of the senate in 2019 by the Nonpartisan tracker – Govtrack.US – That’s saying a LOT when they are saying the MOST LIBERAL.

ya, lets go ahead and have the arguably most powerful position in the world go to someone with the emotional intelligence of a 12 year old for another 4 years.

Only 3 miles of the wall got built, Mexico didn’t pay for it, Hilary’s not locked up, Obamacare wasn’t repealed, the deficit has skyrocketed, millions are unemployed, racial tensions have never been higher in my lifetime, and instead of being “great again”, the USA is the epicenter of a global pandemic. Ya’ll got played

a reality TV star. i can understand supporting the reality TV tycoon based on policies. i don’t share that viewpoint but i can understand it. Ethically speaking hes the most disgusting person to ever hold office in America IMO. i think the filth he spews out of his mouth is both damaging to our culture and our constitution. I want a leader my children can look up to. I want an example that this country can be proud of for the world stage. Im tired of living in a reality TV world full of hate, bile, attacks, lies….

Im not a Biden fan and think hes a terrible candidate but at least i think he will know when to shut his mouth and wont have a twitter account. Im tired of the circus and IMO Trump is the conductor on that crazy train.

Vote for who you want. Its a free country. Its also a sick country right now and i aint talking about the covids…..

See you all in court where Trump has promised to take the election

Just so the OP gets his answer, yes you can vote for anyone on the ballot in the general election. Crossing party lines does NOT invalidate your vote.

You are thinking about the Primary elections, in the primary you have to choose candidates only from a given party (presumably of which you are a member). Primaries are run by the political parties so the party can decide who to nominate and bring forward as their general election candidate.
