Hi all, thanks in advance for your response. I just bought a new Sweetwater 18′ bass pontoon boat. It has a Lowrance Hook3X fish finder mounted to the console. I can see the fish echoes, etc. Can you tell me how far ahead of the boat the structure/echoes are, or do they show on the screen showing what is exactly below me as opposed to what is approaching? Thanks from a rookie – Sam!

Hwy sam,They actually show what you already went over. The depth reading itself is live but everything else is history. If you want to look at whats in front of you before you go over it you will need garmin panoptics or humminbird 360 i believe those are the only 2 that show in front. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on any part of that

Lowrance has the Spotlight Scan. There is even one for sale in the classifieds.
