….who are thinking of taking away our guns.
The only people mentioning or using the phrase “taking away weapons” are the NRA and perhaps gun manufacturers. Have you not realized that gun manufacturers and the NRA need that constant bogus threat of an “arms grab” surrounded with some other controversy to boost sales?
I’m conservative. I own weapons. I also know that the NRA is oozing with propaganda and throws statements out there just to see what sticks and keeps feeding the sales machine.
Don’t be a sheep. (That’s putting it politely)
buckybadger great post and I 100% agree with you. I was about to ask someone on here to provide a list of all the people who want to “take away our guns.”
Much like you, I own plenty of weapons and most of my views are conservative. I’m also a member of the NRA by default, since in order to be firearms instructor certified for my job I needed NRA instructor-level certification. I’m beyond sick and tired of the propaganda and fear mongering. I’ve never understood how a group of people can complain non-stop about the media and fake news and then utter phrases like “anti-gun” and those that want to “take our guns away.” There is plenty of talk about eliminating certain weapons/magazine features, increasing background checks, etc. but I can’t think of anyone or any group that wants to completely take guns away from people.
i 100% agree with Tom’s post!!!!!! cars kill, knives kill, i dont see them trying to take them away.
but then again i also agree with the above 2 posters, but when it gets in the hands of some lawmakers you really need to pay attention!!!!!!!
i also believe in the phrase of getting your foot in the door……..once it stops and they get some type of ban, and i mean anything the fear mongers wont take long to move to the next step.
and for the record i own about 14 guns!!!!!!!
No, the NRA didn’t send this to me, I found it by myself. I find a lot of truth in it. Nobody said you had to read it and if you don’t care for the question, that’s fine.
This stuff here is best left over on Facebook IMO.
The point is it starts with these seemingly minor new laws. Then snowball into government over regulation. (Gun bans) The other point there is it would do nothing to fix the problem. When the new laws fix nothing, more laws are needed. Where does it stop?

HF 3022. It literally has ZERO chance of making it anywhere…I’m just saying…
I don’t have a opinion one way or the other. However it’s kind of like hitting a beehive with a stick. You know what will happen. You knew what you were getting into when you posted it.

100% agree. I can buy guns where I buy groceries. Republicans control the white house, congress, senate, and the Supreme Court.
Also democrats like guns too. No joke the 2 biggest gun nuts I know were huge Bernie guys.
I own guns. I know people on both sides that own guns. I am not an nra member. I don’t think that the government can protect me or my family all the time. I see lots of support for better background checks. With the polarization of everything today we need to be worried. This my way or the highway attitude is how dictatorships start. Just look at Italy or turkey. We need more middle of the road people in our government. This can’t continue to be an us vs them society. For the guys on the far left. Communism and socialism are responsible for millions of deaths of people. For the guys on the far right. Fascism is responsible for 10 million deaths and that’s just during world war 2. Neither form of government works. Our system is the best yet but only because were supposed to come together to solve issues and not retreat to our corners. Hope we figure it out soon.

Bingo Bango
Does anyone think the initial bans wont lead to more and more gun control laws? Thats the real question…..

When the lefties put in common sense gun laws relating ONLY to background checks and/or ONE item at a time please post it here. Until then the huge coverage in each bill is simply a bunch of anti gunners looking to appease their voting base, knowing the laws will never pass. That is the truest form of trying to divide people.

You think if you offered to give all of your guns away the lefties wouldn’t praise you for saving lives? Try sending your extra cash to the IRS this year, see if they don’t take it…..
The other thread run out of room?
Exactly. We need another thread about politics like we need a hole in our boats!
Sec. 34. PERSONS POSSESSING ASSAULT WEAPONS ON EFFECTIVE DATE
OF ACT; REQUIRED ACTIONS.
Any person who, on March 1, 2018, legally owns or is in possession of an assault weapon
has until September 1, 2018, to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution
under Minnesota Statutes, section 624.7134:
(1) remove the weapon from the state;
(2) surrender the weapon to a law enforcement agency for destruction;
(3) render the weapon permanently inoperable; or
(4) if eligible, register the weapon as provided in Minnesota Statutes, section 624.7134,
subdivision 5.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
Sec. 35. PERSONS POSSESSING LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINES ON
EFFECTIVE DATE OF ACT; REQUIRED ACTIONS.
Any person who, on August 1, 2018, is in possession of a large-capacity magazine has
120 days to do either of the following without being subject to prosecution under Minnesota
Statutes, section 624.7134:
(1) permanently alter the magazine so it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds;
(2) remove the large-capacity magazine from the state; or
(3) surrender the large-capacity magazine to a law enforcement agency for destruction.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment
But hey no one is out to get your guns. Except these people: Authors
Slocum ; Lee ; Wagenius ; Bernardy ; Clark ; Murphy, E. ; Bly ; Omar ; Maye Quade ; Ward ; Hornstein ; Applebaum
Exactly. We need another thread about politics like we need a hole in our boats!
Good point. Have a good one everybody!
MN Democrats have officially introduced their gun control bill and its much worse then previously thought from progun
Or google MN state senator Linda slocum…yeah look at what she’s proposing right here in MN.
March in Minnesota is always fun. Wet, sloppy cabin fever creates a wacky sense of hyperactive aggressive boredom.
*** So-called “Universal Background Checks” would be mandated –no exceptions;
** Police inspections of all firearms and mandatory storage requirements; Under this law, all firearms in your home would have to be stored in whatever way your local police department deems fit.
More than that, you will be required to let those officers inspect your home at any time they see fit to make sure you’re in compliance with their new storage requirements.
*** All magazines over 10 rounds will be illegal and must be destroyed or moved out of state.
*** ALL ammo purchases would be tracked and traced as gun owners would be required to fill out paperwork explaining to the government what the “intended use” is for.
Sounds like they are trying to grab guns to me!! A locked up gun is no good for protection.
You cant smoke in restaurants.Now you cant smoke in bars.then you cant smoke on golf courses.beaches some places your own yard or home.They wont stop.
A person almost feels embarrassed living in Wisconsin knowing we have a neighboring state proposing this stuff. You guys must want too mirror the state of Illinois?
I have little faith this is truly intended to keep our schools safe by the far left. It’s a stepping stone. Have zero faith this will curb school shootings at all.
The far left will hope for another school shooting, so they can take another and another step towards their end game. As much as the nra is demonised, the far left is worse. They are more pure evil than the nra is portrayed as. The nra is full frontal, the far left is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The first will not be far behind. But we’ll not succumb to historic lessons cause or government is so much different and run by leaders full of integrity on both sides.
The far left will hope for another school shooting, so they can take another and another step towards their end game.
come on now. The lefties are hoping more kids will die?
Tell us another story, we’re not sleepy yet!
a wacky sense of hyperactive aggressive boredom.
Sounds about right to me.

Is it any different than saying the nra is nuts?
Let me rephrase.
I don’t think they wish anything to happen. But they use things that do happen to further a goal, and it’s more than protecting schools.
Like I’ve stated before, not a member of the nra, but they are being strung up, while there’s things going on with a much farther reaching agenda which aims at not protecting schools, but challenging a founding ideal of the brilliantly written document our county was founded on.
