    Hey guys,
I am curious about the rods you are using for shiver minnows and rippin raps.
Would you prefer a shorter handle like vertical jigging rods or a longer handle which is easier for casting?
What about length, action and power?
I have been using a St. Croix 6’10” medium light extra fast and a 6’10” medium extra fast.
I am not crazy about either for shivers. Part has to do I think with the handles which are too short.I am thinking about 14″ overall for handle might be better.
I like the XF action but, the power is either too light or too heavy.

    What do you think?

Want to build a few and looking for input.

    Thanks

I have 3 rods for rippin raps. All depends on what the fish want and which rod is the easiest to present with. If the eyes want a shorter lift and fall and very slow presentation, I use a Falcon Cara 6-7. If they are hitting on the rise a few feet off the bottom, I like my Quatum EXO 7′. If they are hitting on the long pull on long casts, I go to my 9′ customs

I have both LE and LT 6’8″ M XF rods and that’s what I primarily use. I will also say that St. Croix rods are a touch more power on the upside vs other manufacture company rods. I was considering another St Croix LT 6’10” ML XF rod.
I have recently just added a Shimano Zodias 7′ ML F rod.
