Question about Eskimo church 40 auger

  • #2167239

New to propane augers. Mine arrived today. It says on the auger I should use only a 16.4 oz canister. Before I saw that I tried attaching a 16 oz fairly old canister by Coleman that we would normally use for our camping stove. It wouldn’t screw tight and kept slipping rather than tightening. Do I need a special kind of propane for the Eskimo hc40 propane auger or can I use those regular Coleman canisters. Thanks

I’ve had mine for 4 years and have never had a problem with the regular green canisters. Coleman or Worthington brand.

Thank you. I checked the canister and it had a bit of rust on the bottom threads due to sitting around for quite awhile. That must’ve been the issue. Thanks again.
