While fishing the river for the first time last weekend I realized that my weight selection is lacking. I have many weights 3oz and under but nothing heaver. Does anyone know of an affordable place to get 4, 5, 6, 7… oz pyramid weights?

Have you looked into making your own? It costs less than a hundred bucks to get started. You can buy scrap lead for a buck or two per pound.

The only mold I found for making my own topped out at 3oz. Do you know where I can get the heaver size mold?

Any peticular reason you want pyramids?

I’ve been molding my own flat bank sinkers for years.

I’d recommend that style of weight to anyone Catfishing.

Side a snap swivel onto your fishing line instead of the weight.
Snap into the weight. I use a small zip tie on the flat bank sinker and attach the snap to the zip tie.

Allows for quick weight change. Also when your weight is snagged and zip tie or the snap will break.
Removing your weights during travel on/off the water protects rods from damage.

My flat bank molds are 2-3-4-5 oz and 6-8 oz.

I should have another 50# lead coming this week and I’ll be pouring 3&4 oz sinkers and probably 1000 jigs for pitching plastics.

I’m probably up to 8 molds and they’re all paid off so to speak.

I liked how easy they were to clip on and off my slide snap. I didn’t think of adding a zip tie to the flat bank sinker.

I did order a mold. I do all my lead pouring at my brother’s house and we have not came up with a day to pump out baits yet.
