just wondering where people are putting there units at on the bow hooked up to us2 so they are not in the way and where is best to run the power down through the storage lockers.i want it to look as clean as possible. ill be putting a hb859 on a stabil mount if that helps and plan on running it back to starting battery . I read on another site I can splice the power into the bow tilt and trim switch , it that true? I have a ’13 wx1850. thanks for the help

There’s most likely a spare accessory power connection at the bow (There is on a MX1825) although with a bigger unit like a 859, running directly back to the battery is desired… I use a simple Lowrance Elite-5 at the bow for depth purposes only, so the spare accessory power connection worked fine…I mounted the quick release bracket right to the bow plate, routed all of the cables through the plate, very clean looking install.
March 18, 2015 at 6:58 pm #1524891On my champion there was a set of wires under the front cover for depht finder that worked good ,I don’t think the power trim wires will work because there in no ground wire there. or run wires to main battery if you have voltage drop and unit turns off when you start your main engine, I mounted my HDS7 to the right side of the middle and ran the wires thru a hole in the front plate, then used wire straps to clean up the look and keep every thing neat. like these

March 22, 2015 at 6:24 pm #1525971I just finished mounting mine today. I used the accessory power wires that Skeeter provided, The mount is a Rock Solid mount that I used to manufacture.

Is that a custom bracket you made for the ducer? So no holes drilled through your hull? Shoot me a pm

Yes, I made it and it bolts to existing holes in the motor.
I haven’t been able to test it yet. I’ll let you all know how it works as soon as I get some open water.March 22, 2015 at 8:27 pm #1526026Where are the power wires located? Is that an option or are they behind the trim switch panel? Thanks for the pics
My MX1825 had one set of accessory wires behind the bow panel. They come from a 3 amp breaker under the console. there are 5 sets under the console behind a side access cover, they are also connected to breakers. they only have power when the main power dash switch is on.
March 22, 2015 at 9:41 pm #1526044Here’s a picture of my front depht finder,it’s just screwed to the floor ,no bolts thru. its been there since 2002 . last summer I knelt on it and had to redo the screws it pulled loose went 1 size up on the screws .

March 23, 2015 at 8:35 am #1526145Here is a pick of the bow of my MX2025. Mounted a traxstech track to the floor and is thru bolted. Used a cisco mount on a 1100 series bird unit. This setup allows me to move the unit sided to side some and rotate it. Track also allows me to put my trolling mast in it for great lakes trolling.
As far as power it is recommended to run power right to your battery with a 3amp fuse at the battery. This will help limit electrical static showing up on the screen and reduced the chances of the screen flickering when starting the main motor.

March 23, 2015 at 9:02 am #1526159I prefer my bow electronics to be simple 2d sonar though the US/2 Terrova connection to eliminate cords, i’m really only interested in knowing depth at the bow, I use my console electronics (HB 999SI) for scouting fish and cover. I rigged my Lowrance like this (picture shows a Elite-4 i used at the time, I’ve since upgraded to a Elite-5x) I mounted the quick release mount right to the bow plate, so I can quickly remove the power head when traveling or in storage. All excess cords are wrapped up behind the bow plate and sitting on a angled flat plastic piece I installed inside to protect the rod tips from the rod locker… it works and looks great imo..
The plastic bow plate holds everything just fine, although I originally looked into having a duplicate plate fabricated in aluminum for added strength, it’s not needed unless you run in big water with big waves…i don’t…

March 23, 2015 at 1:29 pm #1526315Only spot I can get at the bolts. Any problem with mounting it here?

March 23, 2015 at 2:41 pm #1526365just double check your clearances, both with the trolling motor stowed & deployed and tilting the display unit…
March 23, 2015 at 4:21 pm #1526407I think that will work. Wiring is ran back to battery . only could get 2 bolts in the mount but used washers and lock nuts. Appears to be out of the way of everything . just have to wait a few days for the new unit
