I’ve read that some are putting push bars on their flip shacks (think shopping cart at menards). Anyone have experience with this, pics?

Sounds interesting if there is just bare ice, but throw a little snow in the mix and it’s a Smitty sled all the way for me! Least until there’s enough ice for atvs.

I’ve thought of this with a smitty sled. But pulling with a harness gives me better leverage (lifting the front). Push sleds would get bogged down in snow, they work best on a packed or groomed surface. There would be times when it would work though.

A push bar might work if you have less than 10 items.

I’m with Greg on this one, let physics work to your advantage.

Now that it’s mentioned tho one can’t deny if a target cart had some skis on it it sure would make for a handy run and gun tactical sled. Could have all the poles, buckets etc right where ya need it

Small sample size to make it worth your while. Glare ice little snow sure, but defiantly not doing a 2 man shack by pushing it.

I’ve been thinking about this some more and it’s doable right now. If we can add some more ice. And if you are pushing down on the handles you would be lifting the front so you could really move along. Crazy thought but put on ice skates! I still think a smitty sled with old skis would be the key. I made one last year and in that snow and slush we had it was much easier than before when pulling with a harness. I saw something on the news about push sleds recently used for skijoring with a dog. If I remember right there is a place to buy or rent.

I made this smitty sled last year. I strap my 2man on top. Maybe I’ll add handles so I can push it.

I’ve always wondered if pushing a shack while another guy is pulling would be beneficial. Two guys pulling on the same harness never works, but if you could somehow split the weight of the shack then I could see it as beneficial. I’m not crafty enough but I would think a set of bicycle bars or something from a scooter could get mounted to the back.

A lot of kids toys (think scooters, trikes etc) have these on the back, should be able to repurpose that pretty easily. Couple more years when the littlest Werm is older, and I’d have about a half dozen for you. rotflol

    Deuces,
    Get them from Aldi’s.
You could make a few hundred and put them at some lake accesses. Rent them out like Aldi does. whistling
