I will be up there the weekend of the 19th just wondering what depth to start out in while pulling cranks in the main part of the lake.

I would think time of day and wind conditions would determine that to some degree. Let’s assume it’s early or late in the day and the wind is making 2 footers…I’d try 8-18 feet in the rocks of the windswept sides of the reefs. If you pinned me down to a specific depth to try first, I’d guess 11-13 feet.

    Bang away and good luck!

I would start a little deeper during the day. You might want some lead core but pulling some bigger cranks on fireline works too. Start on the secondary breaks and work your way in until you find them. Purple has been awesome far this year, but don’t pass on perch or something a little more white, since the tullibee and whitefish start to show up on the rocks. It all depends on the weather, last year at that time all you needed was a jig/minnow combo if the wind blew, if it did not just troll cranks.
