My son is moving to Minocqua the first week of January. I’m trying to hook up with fisherman in the area. He’s 31 and has his own equipment for hard or soft water. But being a quiet guy he isn’t going to ask. Please send me a PM if you have info or can help. Thanks

Stay in touch… Probably be learning the local spots first, but if ya hang in there you’ll figure out lots of spots in a hurry!!!

There are lots of baitshops in the area that I am sure will help you out, but the two I recommend are Kurt’s Island and Rollie and Helen’s Musky Shop.

f he can’t find what he needs at Rollies and Helen’s in either tackle or info, it just doesn’t exist.. It is in my top three or four bait shops that I have ever been to in my whole life..

Thank you for the input. After living in central Iowa 5 years he’s ready for some fishing choices.

I know he got out at least once his first week up there. He sent a pic of his first fish. Doesn’t sound like he wants to explore when it’s always below zero.

Not only is it below zero, but there is deep snow and slush, so getting around on the ice is not real easy right now either… And the fishing hasn’t been real good either right now… Game fish ends on Sunday, March second at midnight too. Then its panfish until May 3rd when hopefully open water and gamefish opens back up!!!
