Protecting the river?

Its a start and sounds like a good plan as long as the ever-looming politics [and $$$$] can be kept out of things. Then too bringing 5 counties and the cities involved into agreement [or is it compliance?] will be another matter. Let’s not forget the Corps of Engineers either….they’ll want a piece of this. And the DNR.

I like the concept of set-backs and the way a “slope” is defined. All too often variances have been granted that put buildings and other structures where some common sense thinking would have had a more appealing end result. Hopefully the new rules will keep these issues in check.

What’s proposed for this river corridor in the Twin Cities has plenty of company in other locations that have rivers and lakes and are finally seeking to protect the aesthetics and not just bow down to big money and politicians.
