Please see the attached which can be used as a guide for how much propane you may need for a long trip or how often you may need to refill. Happy fishing!

Haha, Thanks but this was easy – I just let Excel do all the work!

Thank you. I was wondering if I should refuel my 11 lb each time or not and now I know.

That time of year for a bump!

And I noticed that the cost of 5 lb propane tanks has gone up 20 bucks since last year! Over 50 bucks now!

    Thanks. I missed this before.

Does the little buddy actually mean the regular buddy heater?

    Little Buddy = 4k BTU
    Portable Buddy = 4k/9k BTU
    Big Buddy = 4k/9k/18k BTU

These charts are just theoretical run times based on BTU output, efficiency of the specific heater is not considered.

I am curious how you hook up your little buddy heater to a 5 or 11lb tank. I bought a 90° fitting and still cannot screw the heater on as it hits the top of the propane tank

You need to aquire the individual fittings and assemble a 90° degree setup with a slightly longer rise.

Maybe you can cannibalize parts from the one you bought?

Doh! Didn’t even think of that. Just ran to hardware store and good to go. Thank you and the charts are sweet.

    Nice charts.

I’ve always sort of memorize my hours of usage…and always check tank shake and listen before trip.
