Hi. I have a 96 1890 pro v le. My. Boat is having a tuff time getting on plane. I currently have a ss 3 blade prop. 14*22. It originally had a 14.25*21. Friends of mine say I need to drop down to a 17 or 19 inch pitch. Trying to find the best for the boat. It has a 150 Johnson v6 2 stroke. Boat has maximum of 190. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are your RPMs getting to?

Rpms are everything when it comes to finding the right one in order to find that sweet spot while protecting your motor.

My buddy has that engine (faststrike?) on a 19′ bassboat so the hull performance would be completely different. Good motor.

The pitch is only part of the formula. If your running a prop with Mickey mousewith “Mickey mouse” ears and crapping cupping, all your doing is running a blender and not throwing water.

Need to see the prop design, what the cupping is like, and your rpms

Well to even start helping you we need
    1. Aluminum or Stainless
    2. 3 Blade or 4
    3. Max WOT, RPM’s and Speed (GPS)
    4. Loaded or light.

We can get started with this info..
