With no evening meetings or social events have had extra time to work on my projects in the shop. Anyone else like to work with their hands?

Wow. Great work. I like to work with my hands. I haven’t tackled anything interesting lately (kids keep me pretty occupied). I think tomorrow’s project involves the sewing machine and a few face masks. neutral

My wife is on furlough from the local resort. She is making a pallet board head board for the spare room. Should have it finished this weekend. Pics to come.

My daughter works as a vet tech. Her boss was making her re-use her crappy face mask. The neighbor lady found out and was nice enough to sew a bunch of washable facemasks for the techs at the clinic. Looks like the neighbor lady is going to be getting more fish fillets from the local lake.

Just recently I found a few bowls hiding inside some large chunks of firewood. Here is a photo or two of a couple of them.

My project has been finishing the boats new home. I got the garage framed and exterior finished last fall, and then hunting season halted the progress. Sheeting and insulating is now finished, and I picked up lumber for the shelving and work bench last night. Social distancing sure helps me be a little more productive on the house projects!

    Some talented folks here.

Only thing on my plate is grabbing the heat gun and taking the old numbers off the boat. Might re-spool some reels.

I made a new parcher for processing wild rice . I’m hoping to have a couple hundred pounds through it by next winter. I still need to make a fire in the bottom and burn the paint off.

Dave, nice bowls! I’ve made two of those long ago and loved lathe work. I’ve always wanted a lathe.

I have been able to really get some time in the wood shop. Finally finished the walnut vanity. With the cutoffs mom is getting a little hall table. Just can’t bring it to her yet (she’s 83 and don’t want her having ANY visitors). Wife also wanted a couple “old” crates. Made with 100+ year old barnwood.

Great job on the woodworking brewery. Every year I remove old barns and always seems a shame that hundreds of boards are trucked to the landfill.

With a proper invitation I could watch you turn big logs into little logs. Wouldn’t want to help as you seem to have the process dialed in. waytogo rotflol

Thanks not quite as refined as you. I started this earlier this winter with a 110 stick welder and as you can see the welds were terrible. I replaced the welder with a new wire feed and re-welded it all up.

Stick welder has its place, mostly sitting in the corner out of the way. MIG is just so much more versatile.

LOL Funny you say that. They asked about a year ago. Turned them down as you wouldn’t believe the amount of time they want you to commit to. That and the drama they want involved with the show. Almost like being part of IDO! smirk

Last year was my first time doing the rice . I only ended up with around twenty five or thirty pounds so we kept most of it and gave a few pounds away to family and friends. The plan for this year was to harvest and process enough to give away and sell some to recupe the money that was put into the equipment and the canoe that was purchased for the endeavor.

Damn, Some very nice work everyone. Eelput, it looks like you can stack a mean pile of wood. Ralph wiggum, behind that mask looks like you haven’t changed in years, except is that a little grey I see in the hair, lol. Nice work on the masks. I’ve done nothing nearly as creative or talented as other on here, wired in some new outlets in garage, busted out some concrete in basement for our remodel, major organization of detached garage. List will continue and most likely not knock of nearly as much as I should.
