Why not just cancel unfinished Professional Seasons?
NBA in Florida is highly questionable at this point.
Pump the brakes on Last season and close the books.

I get why they are trying to get sports going in general, lots of money involved, lots of non-millionaire jobs. I am not super optimistic about it going really well though
Edit: I do hope I am wrong!
I don’t care if they resume or not. I’ve not watched an NFL game since they started disrespecting me, the flag and the national anthem. Now they are going to start playing 2 national anthems and encourage the crowd to take a knee. I choose not to support that divisive nonsense.
How many Viking, Packer and Bears fans are going to support a new subversive anthem? How many oath keepers will comply?
they ain’t kneeling to disrespect you and definately will not miss you not watching. they can stand on their heads for all I care as long as they play the games. anybody actually watch the national anthem????
Why not? Money, obviously.
Let the leagues and players decide. I hope they play. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming MLB season. It’ll be interesting, to say the least.

Just curious… when you’re at home watching a sporting event and the anthem comes on, do you stand in your living room?
I will watch any and all live games as long as Kaepernick isn’t in them.
I have lost all interest in televised sports over the past few years. No need to worry about what a bunch of overpaid children can do with a ball. And now that they are being politicized they are pushing me even further away.
Sports on t.v. was always an escape. If it becomes a sociol platform like the “news” with an agenda I’ll continue to live without it as I have since covid came into the country. I have found my time spent elsewhere is time well spent.
This country really needs to open up more jobs, period. Winter is coming and this economy could get really ugly by then.
Anything to start money flowing is a good thing at this point.
My thoughts were more with Basketball
And Hockey, both should have been over. Why not just call for a New season. Restart in the fall with a better plan. I mean The Orlando sports bubble? It seems doomed before it starts.
They should have made the playoffs in a final four format. One game and your out, the playoff season is done in two weeks.
Well I would have put baseball last on the list.
Now we have a FLa team with 12 infections. Could see the end of the baseball season soon after it started.
Maybe the bubble idea is the best idea, if it works?

Oh absolutely its the better idea. Baseball has players and staff traveling. NBA, NHL, and MLS are utilizing a one-location style format. They will be there until their season is finished or they win a championship. Baseball screwed it up and its already looking like its not going to work. I’m now wondering what the NFL is going to do.
The leagues are desperate for lack of a better word to remain relevant. The longer they go not playing not being on tv the more people realize sports may not have been as big a part of their life as they once thought and find things in their lives to replace it with. Now that the leagues seem to want to go hyper political they are driving many of the casual fans away anyhow.
Personally I want to see the vendors and all the other related jobs come back as anyone that can return to work is more important than the sport itself at this point.
3 more positive Marlins today. Still awaiting results from their last opponent. I wonder if that gopher pitcher, Meyer, will end up pitching for the Marlins? Not sure if he was on the 60 man roster

I heard that they had to all huddle in close proximity in the dugout during one of their games because there was a down pour so its likely they spread it during that period of time.
Who knows. Locker room, bus, plane. Can we just blame Florida?
We could except they were playing in Philly.
No players from the Phillies have tested positive. It appears to be just players on the Marlins.
Im so sick of these millionares complaining about player safety not being the most important thing. I bet the ones who decided to sit on their pile of money this year and not play would cry if they couldn’t get their $18 cup of coffee from a kid with no options but to work everyday making $10 an hour. What makes them feel they are so special. I have to go to work everyday and we don’t have a team of doctors at our business checking every sniffle.

Neither do I. But I’m also not a professional baseball player. And I presume you aren’t either. I wish I was that good, I’m just not.

Takes a few days after exposure to test positive and I would assume they flew from Miami. It was, however, just a joke. Good news that none of the Phillies tested positive but the next 3-4 days will be crucial for the reason listed above.

$500 mil to a QB Who plays 16 games a season.
Is that enough for anyone to shut of the TV and ignore the advertisers?
I am calling out The NFL being #1 but they all are equally cashing in on the
on the increased amount of Airtime the commercials get, they only want to speed up the games so they can get more Adds and more airtime. $$$$$
I pray they keep going so there is finally something other to talk about than the two most divisive topics in this country’s history.
I really think we need sports to get back to some sort of normal. Covid and the race wars being the only thing to talk about is making most people tough to tolerate.

X2 – I’m with you on this one. I feel bad for the common hard working people who will miss out on the income they get through professional sports. As far as the Highly paid players and owners go – I could not care if they ever see another $. A large # of players would be broke in a short time if they lose a few years of their income – I bet they would then respect the country and their fans a little more if that happened. To be honest – I was not a huge sports watcher before all this BS. Football will be a little tough to miss but I’m sure I’ll learn to live without it. If it happens this year I’ll probably just listen to it on radio rather than watch it on TV
