couple things want to make sure i have this right…

i have my 996 dewalt 20V Max drill on regular drill settin with speed at 1 for on ice.

I i have the new adapter from strikemaster and when i initially chuck my adapter seems it slips and i dont get a tight fit any tips on getting that tight right away so i dont gring my adapter so much?

    set up is awesome though.

Hand tighten it as tight as possible. I put my drill on drill mode not. In a clutched gear setting.

If you have a Clam plate you need an adapter from the C Plate to Lite flite. I also locate the allen head bolts and/or tape over the bolts.

Yes I have the drill on regular drill not one of the numbered setting on the dial. Then on top of the drill where there is 1,2,3 I have it on 1. I will try to add some electrical tape to see if that makes it easier to snug up.

Need a adapter for the plate to grab a 1/2 inch chuck on top of the lite flight ?

the clam plate will not connect to a drill chuck adapter. you need to take the chuck adapter off and get the k drill adapter. thats what i use and works good for the lite flite

Make sure that the first time you tighten, you gat the chuck jaws in the center of the flats on the adapter.
I gave up on the chuck, and bought the adapter that replaces the chuck. It threads directly onto the drill, and my chuck stays home and does not get all wet and rusty. Chuck goes back on in the spring.

Check out the guys at Deep Freeze. They make an adapter for each style of ice auger for cordless drills. I put one through the ringer last weekend and it worked flawlessly. That adapter will stay in my drill all season now. No more un-chucking the drill. Plus they make a tool that works with the adapter for running ice anchors and an extension. Best money I spent this ice season by far. WI made in Stevens Point. Had my order next day.

If you are using a Clam plate you need an adapter from Clam plate shaft to the Lite flite bit shaft.
