Some friends are hosting a “Bock Fest” party in a few weeks since we can’t make it to the festivities in New Ulm this year. Racking my brain for a traditional German treat to bring, I thought soft pretzels with mustard would do the trick!

Having yesterday off, I figured I should make a small batch as a trial. I learned a few things in the process that will help when I make the next batch, but they turned out pretty darn good!

They look pretty dang good! You might want to consider becoming a part-time baker.

I did not need to see those, ice fishing doesn’t seem to burn enough calories. I can’t afford a new wardrobe including having to replace the new ice suit I just bought.

I was inspired here too. Just made a batch this morning and they turned out good for a first attempt although my wife and youngest son wanted cheese sauce for dipping…

My wife said the same, but she’s not a fan of horseradish like I am. I think I’ll have the mustard sauce and a cheese sauce for the party.
