I just got back from my yearly ice fishing trip in NW Ontario and thought I’d share a picture of a really pretty pike I caught. I’m used to seeing pike have a very dark back/top of the head, like darkish green/almost black (will upload a comparison picture), but this one had zero dark coloration along the top, instead it’s patterning continued throughout it’s entire back and head.
Is this more common than I think? Maybe it’s just the size of the fish(a new PB at 43.5″) that made it stand out so much, but I can’t think of a seeing too many like this.
I’m very tempted to get a replica made cause it was such a beautiful fish, but feels a bit inadequate cause my friend caught a 46″ and a 47″ this trip that made this one look small .
