Has anyone had luck shopping with any companies online these days? Been almost 6 years since my last new pair and my dog Saturday decided he had a new chew toy while fishing the Saugerama at the camper. Glassesusa.com I was looking and they seemed much cheaper then most in store prices I saw Sunday shopping around. Curious if anyone else goes with the online approach these days.

    I only need readers/cheaters:

I haven’t as with a broad width head (hat size 7 7/8) I went to CostCo for 2 pair, Readers and Computer glasses since I spend 8-10 hours a day in front of a screen. They were very helpful in fitting exact and when they came in made fine tune adjustments. Could not be more pleased.

I carry a cheap pair for going out, shopping, etc., but at home or in the office I use the 2 special pair. Reading are single focus while computer glasses are bifocal adjusted for screen distance work and lower for reading closer up.

    Good Luck

Try Sam’s Club for good prices, but my wife also did the mail order thing at the end because her corporate vision plan required it. It worked out fine and time-wise it was the same.

    However…

Ever thought about just getting your eyes fixed? My wife did that 3 years ago and still says it’s the best thing she ever did. The whole process took less than an hour, a little bit of minor discomfort the first day with a feeling of dry eyes, and then eyes like a hawk and no more glasses.

My wife myself and both our kids ware glasses so I know how expensive it can get. We have purchased quite a few pairs of glasses from zenni and have been happy. It’s best if you have a pair you know you like so you can measure to give you an idea of the size of the frames. It is much cheaper and with kids it’s nice to have backup pairs without spending a ton of cash.

I did it last January. Went from a -4.75 correction in each each to seeing 20/15 in each eye the next morning. It’s flat-out amazing. Well worth the money!

My wife gets all her glasses from this site. Like any cheap offer, you may not get the crystal clear optics. For the price point, she’s been very happy with them. She’s received a couple that she wasn’t thrilled with. Some, her selection of frames and others were just not as clear. Their customer service has been good (I assume) since she hasn’t complained about them.

On the trendier side, try Warby Parker. You can try on the frames at home before you order Rx.

Bumping to the top as I have recently got my first pair of regular prescription glasses. They are bi-focal and I really don’t care for them! Have been just using readers and that has been fine. Looking for a couple pair for driving.

    Thanks in advance!

My daughter (out of the house and on her own) purchases all here glasses on-line and has had zero issues. If she does not like them, they simply are returned.

    Her correction is pretty light.

    1-800 contacts
    Zenni for glasses.
Quick, easy to do online, great service, accepts HSA cards.
Great returns ( I had an issue and it was resolved immediately – my screwup)
Scan a copy of the prescription form the Doc and easy peasy.
