anyone ever place bait ?

does placing bait for coyotes or fox work why or why not

I usually take the bones and stuff from my deer processing out to a yote pile. I always get yotes using it and have shot a couple off of it, but I also have a cam on it and they are there way more than I am so I never see a lot of them in person to get a shot. They really don’t come to my bait with any type of pattern. Sometimes during the day, sometimes evening, sometimes late night. They could skip it for 5 days then come back every night for 3 days. Very tough to pattern.
