I like your thinking Dylan…. My scheduled trip so far this winter is a trip to Western South Dakota for some late ice gills, and perch. Otherwise its going as often as I can. See I didn’t fish too much this summer and my wife doesn’t know that I saved up a lot of “vacation” time or time off for good behavior for ice fishing this season. I am going to concentrate on learning a few new lakes this year that I did ok late fall for walleyes…Should be a great ice season once again..

Just remember NO ice is safe ice, be patient and wait for safe walkable ice…

Great to finally see some enthusiasm in the ice area lately
I too will be looking into some new areas as well as the same bodies of water.
The IDO ice boys should have plenty to keep the wet water guys entertained.

I’d like to focus more on Winnibigoshish this year. Its always been a lake that has rewarded me with a bit of hard work.

You know IDO could really use a good Central Iowa Ice Pro staff.
My lawn care end of the business is just about over with for the season, so other than plowing snow, Ill be on the ice about every day this winter.

Well, well, well. I think I will start out in secret spot #5A, you know- down the big hill. It brings lots of jumbo perch! Secret spot #7 is the crappie spot and is always good first ice, a little more accessable so a little more riff raff, that comes with the teritory but the bonus here is very protected so it will be early. Then once the ice gets a good chance to develope I can cross the channel into secret spot #1 were the walleye, pike and crappies will be doing good. As of now I could be ready to go in 30 minutes just string some new line on the jig poles and grab the gear, I can always run leaders on the tipups as I am dropping them in…..

What a variety of different spots everyone is going to… Lake of the Woods i could only dream to go to but between school and sports its hard to get time off to goo on the couple day trips. Otherwise its more local fishing hey if you know where they are just fish there for now i guess i get my licensse in a year and then it will be easier to get out of town to go fishing hahah

the first couple weeks in March have our crew searching Winni for the big perch, we love to mix things up and find that “jewel” of a lake in the area, those ones with very little traffic and a better than expected outcome, sometimes these lakes are very small, and to our surprise the fish are large! Would like to do this the first week of Jan for the early ice.

I might even start off barefooted just to intensify that cool feeling…..man do I miss the hard water

You guys must be having a lot colder weather than us. We won’t be standing on anything but a boat for a while.
