My budget is pretty small but I would like to get an electric caller to go with my hand call. I have about $100 to spend at Fleet Farm. What are the thoughts on these 2 callers.

These are just 2 with remotes. Not sure what people thoughts are in the trigger style but remote seems more worth while. If you have time pull up the Fleet web page and see what else they have for under $100. Thanks

I think an e caller for under 100 u are going to be really unhappy with I went cheap with my first one and was pretty bumbed. I didnt go crazy with the one I got now either but if u want a good bang for your buck get a foxpro spitfir. Its under 200 bucks and works great I think but thats my 2 cents what do the rest of u think?

I’ve been looking for a caller also and I think I might try the foxpro wildfire ll. There 199.99 and from all the reviews I’ve read it sounds good for the price. I belive the spitfire has been replaced by the wildfire ll. Cabelas had them on sale a couple weeks ago for 129.99 and I should of got one then

My only problem with that is I can only afford it by using my Fleet Farm gift card and they don’t have that. Maybe I should just stick with the mouth calls for now.

Do you already have an ipod or mp3 player? If so, I would look for an amplified speaker for it. Two things with it. First, you have the ability to add/change to a larger range or sounds. Second is sound quality.

A few of my buddies have gone the route of a DIY ecaller, and I have to admit, the sound is outstanding!! They have forgone the ability to have a remote, but the trade off for their use is worth it. They tend to hunt heavy wooded areas, and have a less of need to get separation between them and the caller.

    Hmmmmm.

Not at Fleet Farm, but Fox Pro offers really good deals in their reconditioned calls area. Currently, you can get a Spitfire for $125, which is an absolute bargain and cheaper than I bought a used one.

If you want one, jump on it. The supply on the recondition section is limited and I dithered too much last year and they went out of stock.

If you build one, be sure to put 10-15 minutes of silence at the beginning. This will allow you time to get back to your spot and for things to calm down.

Imho you wont like either of them. They wont get the volume you want or give you the sound selection. I would save your money till you are able to spend a little more and get a fox pro or similiar unit. The spitfire is a good unit. Ive got a fx3 that im thinking of getting rid of and upgradeing to the new foxpro, pm me if your interested.

I hunted with my buddy this last weekend in SD. He has the entry level FoxPro. He likes it, but he says the Primos Alpha Dogg I have is way better. Of course, it’s over twice as much. I hope you find something you like.
