Went out today with my new Primos Alpha Dogg e-caller. Called this young female in this evening. Love the professional hunts on this caller. Went 1 for 2 today. First miss was well beyond 300 on a dog we jumped driving in. Back at it in the AM.

    Way to go!!

I shot a small male tonite. Ill try to upload pics later. Little guy took over 45 min before i saw him and 10 more before the .22-250 had to put it to sleep.

We have an abundance of cottontails so I used the distressed cottontail professional hunt preloaded on the Primos. It also has a couple of sequences that include distressed coyote. During a pause I noticed the pheasants flushing behind me. Sure enough this young female came trotting in. She got my wind and busted out east of me. I barked and she stopped at 180. BOOM!

Headed back out in a few minutes.

Very Nice! Jealous even! I teamed up for a set last night with my nephew and while it all looked good, we had no takers. I know where we’re hunting there’s a lot of human presence so I suspect they’ll be tough but I don’t think anyone else is getting after them out there….. yet. Hopefully it’ll produce in the near future. I need to get up to the cabin and do some yotin’ up there!

This evening was a bust. Got in two sits. Did get a jackrabbit at the second sit as the light had almost completely faded.

Just got in the house from a sit with the shotgun. Heard some dogs very far away. Its lightly snowing so visibility is really limited. Would have liked to have one clear night while I’m out here.

Lots to learn. Very excited about my “new” hobby.
