How big an area?

At my farm down near Richland center, most of the activity has been around 4am for the last week. Very little to nothing at dusk with a locate howl. Sitting on the deck having coffee at 4:00am and I hear at least a dozen from all different directions. Why – no clue, but at least down here that is how it has been. Same for trail cam pics. Aug – Oct, most activity was 10pm – 12am. Now, just before sun rise.

As for territory, it really varies. 3 sq miles to 10 sq miles. Suitable habitat is the key!

Thanks Randy these dogs are a tough one to figure out. As soon as deer season is over I am going to try and hit them hard. They seem to be getting out of control around here. To many people won`t let the guys in with dogs to run them.

Trying to put together a game plan of where and when is a real struggle. With my limited knowledge.

Hhhhhmmmmm…..maybe if the river freezes enough for icing some eyes…I’ll have an excuse to do a road trip
