Anyone want to share what they have experienced with E callers on the market today? I’m thinking about picking up the Primos Alpha Dog. Most of the reviews seem very positive.

Brush BreakingAugust 9, 2012 at 5:37 pm #121953So I have two e callers
Johnny Stewart- Which mine is the cheap small one that has like 6 calls on it.I also have I think it is a flextone hand held one. Both of these work just fine and get loud enough to pull from a distance. Both of these are cheap but have worked on yotes and fox just fine.
This year I am also looking to upgrade to something like what you are looking at. It appears to have a bunch of calls on it which foxpro doesn’t for that price.(i think) Foxpro’s are expensive but they work very well. I would like to get myself set up with more sounds and that one looks good. Great reviews…………
Remotes-
They never work as far as they say they do! If the remote has a range of 100 yards I would bet it is more like 50. Keep that in mind if you are in sd and trying to put that out in the middle of a field far away so you don’t get busted.August 9, 2012 at 5:52 pm #121954My buddy has a decent FoxPro and my uncle is running this Alpha. They both are very happy with them. Before I buy anything, I almost always run it by IDO first.

August 9, 2012 at 11:08 pm #121962I’m a Fox Pro and a DIY guy. I have not used the Primos calls much. Since I rotate calls so much by location and timing throughout the season, I’ve been very partial to F/P. I sold my fx3’s and replaced with the Firestorms and very pleased with them for the abuse they take.
I had a client that I hunted with this spring that bought the Western River Apache. Very similar to to the fox Pro Firestorm and sounded great. Was preloaded with 3 or 4 hundred sounds and had unlimmitted access to all the sounds on the Western river website. That’s a huge savings when you think about all the added soundfs you may want to aquire.
Last, is a DIY model. There are a lot of awesome amplified speakers available that you can direct-connect a MP3 or Ipod to. Depending on your expectations, you can save or spend more in making your own. Couple local guys here near me have made their own, and I’m so impressed with the quality of sound they have.If your loaded and want to buy the best, look at the FoxPro Shockwave. I’m thinking I may need to upgrade one of my callers this year

I believe is the name of one of the cow elk calls that Primos makes.

August 11, 2012 at 4:06 am #122002He may be loaded but that is possible for only $15.99 . In all seriousness, I have never heard anyone complain about the capability of their foxpro .

And FoxPro has a 5 year warranty if it is ever needed.
