in a .223, the skies the limit on what you can get. For 200 or less yards, AR’s, bolts,…I set up a 22-250 Howa that I outfit with. awesome tack driver out to 500yrds. bit pricy though for someone just setting up one rifle for a specific use. I’m a huge fan of bolts and high quality glass. In fact, I would most likely scale back my budget and look at a savage, then invest in better 30mm tube scopes like the Burris six or Black diamond. The 30mm tube is so much briter than a 1″ tube. Ecspecially when most of shots are at night or extreme low light conditions.

Figure out how much money you want to spend first.

The sky is the limit on AR’s. I have a tika 22-250 that I wouldnt give up for anything.

I wouldnt spend a lot of money on the gun, but more on the glass. You can always upgrade parts on most of the guns on the market today and make them shoot good enough to kill a yote at 200 yards.

Spend the money on good class, like Randy said get the biggest diameter tube you can find. Ive got a nikon monarch 4x16x50 that has a 1 inch tube which i thought was nice but my Vortex that has the 30mm tube blows that one out of the water.

I would look into the vortex line of scopes. They are probably the best bang for the buck for what you get. Sure there is better out there but i cant afford to spend 2k plus on a scope

thanks guys, i been thinking of different cal. i looking at 308 a little more if i can find shell that are not going to blow them up. As for scopes it’s a no brainer Vortex all the way. I use to be on there shooting staff back in the day. Great guys to deal with.
