I would say early morning bite is good or was last weekend and for as nice as it was last Sunday there was minimal rec boater traffic, which was nice. The afternoon bite should be starting to heat up as well…

I would say go early and stay late!

Anyone know if you can get under the Stillwater bridge with the high water?

The landing downtown Hudson is closed due to high water when I went by a 9am today. Depending how high your boat sits in the water to get under the bridge. My 18ft deep V with full windshield fits under with 2-3 feet to spare however when I was up there weds. night I had to pull my back light out to get under the bridge.

I could not get under there last Sat. in my 22′ open bow. I would say if you have a tiller you will be fine. If you have any kind of windshield and/or good size boat it will be very tight at best.

Thanks for the info on the Hudson landing. Where is the next landing south on the WI side, and does anyone know if it is still open?

I did figure out on Saturday that the WI side of the Stillwater bridge has an extra foot or two of clearance.

I agree. Try using lindy rigs with silver spinners in 25-35 FOW

I’d have to say it was by far one of the best years my hunting partners and i have ever had. as a group we ended up with over 40 fox and coyotes. we had 5 guys shoot their first critters with us this year, thats always an added bonus when someone finally connects. i’ve never seen any animal bring more enjoyment to someone than when they connect on there first one. there is usually a lot of frustration before it all comes together for someone. i’ve seen seasoned hunters with hundreds of kills under there belts almost brought to there knees by a coyote. for some reason these extreme predators bring out the little boy in all of us. remember the excitment of that first dear harvest, where you think your heart is going to explode. i’ve shot alot of these animals yet they still turn me into a shaking, adrenaline filled mad man every time i put one in the scope. there are few things in this world that can give you the constant fast and some times furious action of varmint hunting. its usually not easy, unless you are my cousin. he didn’t start hunting till the middle of february. he shot his .204 3 times shot 2 coyotes and a fox. pretty impressive. he got them all to stop and put good shots on them. i was impressed with accurracy of the 204 and even more impressed with the extremely hide friendly round. i shoot the same hornady bullets as he does, only mine are 22-250. his left holes i had trouble finding, mine left softballs in the hide. we sold 27 fox and coyotes and 10 coon last week for an ok pay day. our nice fox brought 3-25 dollars and coyotes 3-35. top was 40 but no such luck this year. had some big boys but they didn’t quite make it. we topped at thirty. all in all about 450 dollars. it’s the only sport that pays me back at the end of the year. i recommend anyone intrested in this awesome sport to give it a try. it’s fun to be humbled by an animal once in a while, especially you deer hunters. one way to ensure more deer in the fall is to get together in the winter and help them out by putting a few deer eaters on the ground. i guarantee it will make you a better shot and an all around better hunter. if you can outsmart these guys, trust me, everyting seems easier. hopefully i get my turkey easter weekend so i can spend the rest of the 5 day season calling in coyotes. any distress call this time a year usually brings them running. they have pups to feed, or getting close to having pups, they seem to respond excellent this time of year. until then good luck with the long beards or whatever it is that excites you this time of year
