Lazy man hunting

I wasn’t feeling too good this morning when I got up. So instead of hooking up the boat and going to the pond(Lk MI), I set the fox pro up in my wood pile, grabbed a cup of coffee, the 22-250, and sat back in a lawn chair. Really only expecting to watch the sun come up. Took about 10 minutes and this gal trotted in from about 600 yards away. She was in a field across the road from me. As soon as I increased the volume to about 3/4, she stopped and looked in my direction for about 30 seconds. Then it was a steady trot along a brush line, across the street, through my back yard, and right up to the fox pro. I reduced the volume steadily as she came it. Shot her 2 feet away from the fox pro. If anyone ever questions the quality of sound from a fox pro, this is as good as it gets.

Now I wonder if the trout bite would have been as easy this morning

Fox Pro Firestorm / squeeling cottontail

No, I didn’t spill my coffee. Thermal mug, neatly set down on the deck, while I knelt down along side my grill so I wasn’t seen. Woke my wife up since the Master Bedroom window was directly above me.

I do very well at the first light just before sunrise. Evenings, just as its getting dark. I get a few daytime dogs, but not many. They’re pretty tight to their den areas during the day around here

LOL – we have snow again, along with a few inches of ice. we got pounded with the slush storm when you guys got the additional foot up there
