I think it would be a good cure for finicky walleyes with a vertical presentation. Personally I like knowing where the bottom is at all times. However I think when you let the bait touch the bottom you are often times going out of the strike zone. It seems like you get more hits when you are 6″ to 18″ off the bottom…and the drop shot would allow you that space and contact with the bottom at the same time. I think it would work well, i’ve always wanted to give it a try, but always ended up skipping on it. good luck

Just have a couple of fox and coyote pics from previous turkey hunts. Called the fox in from about 150 yards away. He came to within 5 yards of me before he hopped on the logs for a quick photo op! The yotes were all over us during the youth season…the last pic is of one that decided to lay down about 70 yards from the blind in the middle of a cut corn field!

Cool pics Mike! So do you think that fox was trying to get to a higher elevation so he could see what where that sound was coming from?

I do believe he was! He was in the bottom of a ravine and I thought I would make a kissing noise to see what he would do. Well he looked up at us but didn’t really seem interested. I’ve never hunted coyote or fox but have seen people call them by making a kissing noise on the back on their hand…so I did that and it made a higher pitched noise which this guy seemed to want because he came in on a string! I may have to try this this up coming winter…it was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in the woods!

I had 2 coyotes screw up my turkey hunt this morning, so after the birds left, I lip squeeked both of them into 15 yards before they laid down. My son and I were hoping for a double, but we couldn’t get it right. One caught me moving and got ready to run, so we both ended up shooting the same one at the same time! One last mangy song dog to screw up my turkey hunting.

I’ve never called a coyote in and killed it. I think calling ANY animal in and harvesting it is a total rush!
