Hunter Dan and myself made it out last night for a couple sets on some public land. With the wind blowing and gusting up to 20 mph we knew it was going to be a little bit of a shot in the dark, but as clear as it was, and after watching Zink Devil Dogs 24-7, we knew we had to try at least. We were able to make two sets on the public land, which yielded nothing until we started packing up. We had been at the set for about 25 min and were getting up to leave when we heard some yotes sound off about a 1/2 mile downwind. We quickly repositioned to try to get downwind of where we thought they would possibly show up, but didnt have much time. We gave them another challenge howl and sure enough they had closed the distance a little but it sounded like they were heading north up a fenceline instead of heading our way. Well after another ten min of nothing we tried a few series of rabbit distress and one more set of howls with no response. Gave it a few more min and then decided to pull the plug. Not sure where exactly they went, if they kept heading north or decided to head west and cut our tracks on the snowmobile trail, its tough to tell.

Heading out tonight and it should be great. Going to head up to my grandparents north of Pierz and see what we can bring in. Lots of stand locations, a great wind, and bright moon…keeping the fingers crossed. Have hunted up there one time this year and shot a grey fox, but hoping to capitalize on more tonight. Knowing our luck though we will probably call in a wolf and then im gonna need a new pair of pants.

goodluck to all who are ready to do some predator control… down

Thank for the update Charles. My dad was up at our land north of Pierz and saw lots of coyote tracks. I have to get up there soon!
