Pair of slippery ‘yotes…

Went out for an evening calling session with my son tonight… sat in a great spot where three valleys meet and started calling. After about 20 minutes I catch motion just inside the woods in front of me, about 80 yds. I get ready with the gun expecting a ‘yote to come bouncing out into the field but nothing. Hit the lipsqueaks and see another come through the same spot, again waiting for something to show on the field edge, but nothing After a fair amount of time we called it quits and walked over to investigate. Sure enough, two sets of coyote tracks just inside the woods that came within 50 yds of us. We had the wind in our face and the setup looked good. All I can figure out is that the wind must have swirled and caused them to exit, stage left… without being seen. I was so bummed, I was ready to lay down the … but I guess that will have to wait ’til next time.

Heading out in the a.m. to give it another shot…

    Good luck out there

I often wonder how many times that happens that we’re not even aware. Plenty I’m guessing.

It’s the very reason why we love to hunt them! Good luck and I bet you will win the game next time!

I’m using an electronic call… Minaska M1Bandit. I’ve been real happy with it, very durable and easy to use.
