Well, this year has been going much better than last. So far I’ve called in 6 ‘yotes and 2 grays. Unfortunately I only got shooting in 3 of the situations. I called in 2 pairs of ‘yotes on Dec. 23rd… one pair in the a.m. and another in the p.m. w/ no shot opportunities. I also called in a gray that night and missed This week has been a good one… called in a single last Saturday and dumped him. Went out last Thursday, had a ‘coon come in and plugged him with the .17 hmr. And called in a single yesterday a.m. and dumped him at about 250yds. The ‘yote gods have definitely been smiling on me this year. Now with this snow, things can only get better

    good huntin’ to ya

Sounds like that Fox Pro has been good to you lately
Nice job on the yote While I was out around the Goose Island area today I noticed a LOT of coyote and coon tracks. The coyotes have been checking out all the rat houses out on the ice. I do beleive I need to get out and start chasing the coyotes

Thanks Am, I’ve been pretty happy w/ the Foxpro. I can see wanting to try some hand calls in the future. Just need to get my confidence up and observe a few of the critters before I try to tackle that. They definitely are smart… I can’t believe the number of ‘coon tracks that I’ve been seeing either. I was really shocked to see the one I shot on Thursday night. It was pretty cool, we heard him on the hillside, then I lipsqueaked at him and he came hustling on over through the hayfield… couldn’t believe it. Good luck out there, let me know how you do…

Nice Yote! Adamm??? and I made two stands today. Didn’t see anything on the first stand (public land) Saw alot of tracks on the second stand but that was about it. Pretty windy today plus the snow coming in didn’t seem to help any! Still waiting for that first yote!!
We started with the Foxpro and then tried the handcalls. Still nothing! MAybe next time!!

If you ever want to get together sometime, I would be more than happy to bring along the hand calls and let you see how I do things I would love to get a Fox Pro someday, but I really like to use the hand calls. I have only been using my electronic caller for coons lately.

Thanks for the report. Good to know they are pairing up, easy calling down here soon. Congrats, you just killed an animal with the intelligence of a dog and the paranoia of a turkey.
