Nothing a little 7 MM can’t fixSeptember 13, 2006 at 1:21 am #20460That is one of the reasons I have the fever to hunt yotes.
And people always give me the sad story about how can you hunt a dog? They just dont understand these are not your normal house dogs they are wild animals that will hunt your house broken dog, your child playing in the backyard, etc. Yes us humans have invaded there areas and due to human population it wont be ending anytime soon. So we must stand a ground to control some type of population control and yes the animals will suffer for it. I will take a life of an animal before I am in a position of watching a child getting mauled by a predator…September 13, 2006 at 1:21 am #478007That is one of the reasons I have the fever to hunt yotes.

The girl was given rabie shots but the wolf was killed??? correct me if I am wrong but if the wolf was killed they can test it, if neg. you wouldnt need the rabie shots. Hate to put my self out here for attack but I think a statement like the first one is a little harsh. only good one is a dead one, Why cause one injured wolf was trying to survive, so lets kill them all?? What about other animals even domestic dogs have taken lives so kill them all???
My 2 centsSeptember 13, 2006 at 1:37 am #478019Several peaople attacked and didnt make any other news?????

My 2 centsSeptember 13, 2006 at 1:38 am #20465As you can tell, I am not a wolf lover. If the government wants to bring them back, hey have at it. But, if you can’t control them, then it is time to allow us as hunter’s to control the population. The oacks have grown extremelly well and above all expectations the government had. All they want to do with them is let the wolves run rampant all over the north woods in fear of an outcry from the animal lovers if the were to allow a hunting season. While it is true that we as humans are moving into “their” habitat, that excuse doesn’t fly. They were gone up until the reintroduction process. A few wolves running around is great for wildlife population control, but they are getting out of hand.

If not I just broke the law last friday night when I killed my bear! It is legal to have guns in the BWCA, just not legal to use them on wolves….yet!

They are really something people oooo and ahhh about one guy while I was up there shot one and hung it out on his porch thinkin it was a yote It was hillariouse to see Lori who runs the Wolf center lay into his . Do not remember what the outcome was though.

September 13, 2006 at 1:59 am #20469Theres no shame in dislikeing them or liking them, when there population is as stong as the coyotes you may be able to hunt them for now remember they are protected I suggest not shooting one unless you are under the certain situations that alows it. There are many other animals out there that kill and injure humans too, cause we are invadeing there space (no excuse) but that sholdnt mean the only good one ia a dead one. I pearsoally would hate to see only a small population but I agree there is a line.

September 13, 2006 at 2:16 am #20472You are correct Stick Boy, as much as I hate the way they are being managed, I wouldn’t ever kill one illegally. In a sense, I do have a love/hate relationship about wolves. I love the sound of their howl and that they are predators. But, I hate the way they are allowed to run amok killing livestock, wildlife, and attacking pets and people in populated areas. When they kill livestock the government pays for the damage but not nearly what the livestock is worth. Deer, moose, and small game populations are being destroyed in some of the heavier populated areas in the country. Other areas are closed off to hunting because they have established packs of wolves occupying the land.

A good arguement for allowing guns in the BWCA
You can’t legally carry a firearm in the BWCA ? Please clarify.

September 13, 2006 at 3:00 am #20480I sure hope you can. An article ran in the paper while I was up there about a guy who took a moose with his .270 in the BW! My teacher who is a guide up there brought his .410 and let me shoot a grouse with it on Basswood.
