Coonhounder,
Check the new regs. Yup, there’s a coon season now.
Farmboy1,
I’ll keep you posted. I’ve got a plan.

For some reason this won’t let me copy a post I made on another board….
Bottom line is that bills have been introduced into the senate (SF3056) and house (HF3395). Now is the time for Minnesotans to get off their butts and get in gear if they ever want to use lights to hunt predators with.
Please write your legislators and ask them to support the above bills.
Don’t leave it for someone else to do. We need this last push if we are going to pass it.
Please ask everyone you can think of to write to their legislators as well.

Minnesotans,
(For those of you on my email list, I’ll be sending out a note tonight as well)
The time to act on our light bill is NOW!!!! We have the bills introduced and numbered. The house bill is HF3395 and the Senate bill is SF3056.
I’ll copy the bill below so you can read it but we need to act now and we need to act STRONG!!!
For those working with us on this, here’s what I need you to do THIS WEEK.
Write letters (typed on the computer and several different forms in your own words) and then go and have EVERYONE you know sign them with their name and address. Then, YOU take the letters, find out who their representative or senator is and mail the letters to those legislators.
If there’s time for action folks, it’s NOW! We need this. Get on it right away!!! Don’t just ask them to write in support of these bills. Do it for them and just had them the paper and have them sign it. (don’t do one form letter or those folks who get them will be far from impressed)
Anyway, please, please get moving on this right away. We can’t afford to have the work we’ve done go down the drain because of apathy. DO IT!
Here’s the wording of the bill. (the senate wording identical just with a different number.)
Thanks all.
Randy

Well, yesterday I was at the capital to testify on our bill. One rep has stated he is against it completely and vowed to fight it. When I got there I was blind sided by a “compromise.” To make a long story short… there was some discussion between me and several involved in the process and we decided to take the compromise.
The compromise is that we only use shotguns while using lights and that we not use lights for raccoons.
In the next week or so I’ll be heading back down to the capital to testify at the senate.

You can shine ’em if they are treed by dogs. That won’t change. This law will only effect those who are calling them with a predator call.
