Tell me a little about ‘Yote Hunting

I have hunted deer (shotgun) and fish all my life. I have bow hunted once in my life for deer… but never had the opportunity after that. This ‘Yote hunting sounds interesting… so, a couple questions for you:

Is a license needed to hunt them (small game or special)?

    Is there a “Bag limit”?

What do you do after the kill? Is the meat good for anything? I am under the impression that the hides and “population control” are the two main reasons for hunting ‘Yotes (besides for the thrill)… but what about the “left overs”?

If a licesnse is needed, do you need to tag? register?

We have 10 acres up near McGregor. Where is the ideal “area” in MN to hunt them? North MN? South MN?

    Thanks for any help!

I see your in mn so someone else will have to step in with the details. As for the yote most just take the hide off and dispose of the carcass properly. I have a few of the bigger yotes skulls clean and bleached setting in my coffee table/display case that I made.

As far as i know you dont need a special liscense, i have a small game anyways so i think that would be the only other one you would need.

There is no bag limit be happy if you get one Ive never shot one yet, the hides are going for some decent money on a good shot and if you know how to clean em, ive heard guys taking the whole animal into the place and getting 5 bucks for it. pays for the amunition and part of the beer

Talk to AMWATSON he knows a lot about it.

we went out last weekend and got shut down but had them responding just wouldnt come into us.
