Prayers for my Dad

Yesterday my Dad had a stroke. Thank God my Mom was home at the time it happened. Waiting in the hospital why they worked on him I thought of the great times we spent fishing. He was the one who taught me to fish and taught me about boats and boating. It was hard to watch him struggle with his speech and his movements. They said it was a mild stroke and he might get better but they said that the next 24hrs was critical. Thanks for letting me talk about it.

I will be sure to keep you, your Dad and your family in my/our prayers. I’ll add you all to our church prayer list in the morning. May God bless your Dad with all the strength he’ll need, for a fast and full recovery. Take care and God bless you all.

I just went through the exact same thing the 4th of Sept.
The 24 hrs are when the drug they give you does it’s thing… I came out of it OK (very minor damage).
I’ll pray for the same results for him….

Thank you all so much for your prayers, thoughts and well wishes. It is very much greatly appreciated. The 24hr window was up yesterday and they did another scan of his brain and said it was negative so they said he is getting better. I told him I posted this on these forums and he said to tell you all Thank You for everything. Here is one of my favorite photos of him.

Its just amazing to me that on Friday night he was having trouble moving his arms and legs and having trouble saying one word and he couldn’t even remember what month it was or even what his age is. Then during the 24hr window after they gave him the medicine to break up the blood clots he is able to move his arms and legs and able to speak multiple words. He is still having trouble swallowing and can’t say full sentences but the doctors say that from the brain scan Friday to the brain scan Saturday he has shown good improvement. Thank you all again.

It is hard for me to convey to all of you how much your prayers, thoughts and well wishes mean to me and my family. It is very much greatly appreciated. Yesterday the doctors found an 80% blockage in his left carotid artery and are doing surgery tomorrow to fix that.

    LORD,
On this day of Thanksgiving we thank you for all you have given us!
May you hold Jeff’s dad in your arms and show him your grace and love and help heal his body and ease the worries of his family. Amen
