I had the same dilemma last year; then I bought HB Helix ICE conversion kit. Works out pretty nice for that, and when I did the updates to the head units software waytogo

Thank you for the reply! I don’t want to sound dumb but what do I use for the power connection? Also, don’t want to mess up my units.

I located this on Amazon. This work with the PC 10 Power Cable?

Do you have a 12volt battery? from an ice unit? deep cycle from the boat?

Just take your power cord out of the Helix box and connect the two ends to a 12volt battery. I like the little batteries from ice units because there’s a hole in the terminals. Put the little skinny 20ga leads from the Helix in the hold and set it so there’s some leverage to have a constant connection.

    Irene,
from what I can tell, your Helix 7 draws 800 milliamps, that power supply is rated at 2000 ma, so it would be good. The little connector supplied will make it easy to connect the PC-10 power cable, red to +(positive), black to -(negative).

My boat is in storage. I don’t want to use a big battery. I was wanting something I could use in my house to power my Helix 7’s up and configure them.
