I’m installing a lowrance elite 9ti on the dash in my Lund Fisherman. Is it necessary to run a ground and power wire to back of boat and wire it directly to the battery to avoid any interference? If not what do you guys usually hook into?

Always run power and ground to battery in a boat, IMO. Unless you have an adequate power distribution/fuse block up front with both, which is doubtful.

Its best practice to run a direct lead from a battery with an inline fuse.

I would run it to the main power switch if you have one, not directly to the battery. That way you can shut everything completely off as most all electronics do have a small bit of power consumption when turned off.

Dig under your dash and look for a power block first.

If the block has adequate wiring there is no need to run it to the battery (and cause more clutter).

If is the key word there. Seems so many aren’t adequate which is why many of us run our locators directly to the battery.

To save on wire cost, I’ll ground on the block under the dash but power at the back. I’m not a fan of inline fuses so I use a BlueSea spade fuse block at the battery to avoid bird nests on the battery terminals.
