With the new 1890BT are they still offering the power steering? I have a 2005 with it and have no reason to upgrade to a newer one, just curious if they still have it?

Ok, thanks. That’s really too bad, I am not sure a 90 is quite enough for that boat, but I don’t really know. My 115 is a great fit on mine.

    Sticker,
What do you get for top end and what can you troll down to with your 115?
My dad is in the market for a 1890, let me know if you guys hear of anything.

Send a shout out to “Dave in Walker” over on WC. He runs a 1890 with a 140 Suzuki.

The new Mercury Command Thrust motors are pretty comparable to the 115, yes a 115 will beat it out of the hole but once on plane the 90 is actually faster.

Top end I can get 40mph in perfect conditions. I can troll down to 1.5 -2mph. The 115 is the perfect size in my opinion. Just enough speed to get where I am going and great for trolling cranks.

    Sticker,
think out of the box and look at the V-4 Evinrude E-TEC 90 H.O., based on the 115/135 powerhead.

Thanks. He ended up pulled the trigger on a 2015 with the 90 command thrust. He was happy with the way it rode in the test run. Will have some real figures this weekend if anyone is interested.

“dave in walker” has had so many boats, i don’t think he can remember which one he is running now. just kidding, he is a wealth of knowledge in the boat game. he can catch a fish every once in a while also, he even taught that steve fellegy guy how to catch fish on leech lake.

We had it out last weekend while we broke in the motor. We didnt give it max for too long so I cant really give you definite top end and really didnt have a enough time under ideal conditions to figure out a definite low end trolling speed. It was pretty rough on saturday I could get it almost stopped going into the wind and 1.5-1.6 with the wind at our back. It came with a 5 blade prop so I would think that would hurt the top end which might be a problem from the start only have a 90 horse.

The ride is truely amazing cutting through the bigger waves. It was easy to keep it the boat where we wanted it and the front end never blew out like my Lund does.
