Would it be a good trolling line? Looking to spool up some salmon/lake trout trolling rods with braid. I really like the 40/8# line.

Anyone try this stuff? I won an awesome jig pitching combo on Friday in a fishing contest and was thinking about what to spool it up with.

If no one has any feedback I might go ahead and get some. I swear. I’ll do it. smash

I decided against this stuff. I researched some reviews online and found that wind knots seem to be a problem.

Instead I’ve been using Power Pro Super Slick and am extremely happy with it. When compared to Suffix 832, I think the Super Slick is far superior. No wind knots in 5 trips out and the casiting distance is about 25% farther than the Suffix. Not to mention it is far quieter going through the guides.

The only thing I wish I did was to buy the high vis color. I can’t stand the drab colors they make braid in. I don’t understand why they do this. Sales point I guess.

The only thing I dislike about Super 8 is that it has a tendency to slip off my index finger on the back swing of my cast due to it’s low friction. I end up either casting straight up or backwards on my back swing. tongue tongue tongue

I bought the small spool of super 8 20lb in that goofy green color last year at Walmart on clearance for less than $5. I’ve been happy with it so far. Casts nice and smooth and no issues with wind knots. Since I use two hands for casting spinning reels, I don’t have the issue Francis has, but I could very well see it happen. Much quieter going through guides, which would be a big plus for anyone using recoils. It’s by no means “Hi-Viz”, but it’s much easier to see than other greens.
