Power Pole or Talon

The question I had was which way to go Power Pole or the Talon, And without a doubt I think I made the right choice. I waited a few years to read all the reports and done all the comparisons. Everybody that reported out on their units that they purchased had good and not so good information. But for me I choose the Power Pole and I have not regretted it and by far in (my opinion) the power pole is the best unit on the market. I have two 10′ Blade units and have put them to use more than I would have ever dream, there is so much more you can do with them besides just anchoring. If you are thinking about buying shadow water units definitely look at the power poles

Do they have quite a noticeable effect on drift control with the flaps in place?

First post… hmm…. With your extreme expertise on both products even only owning one of them, what product should I choose if I always fish in 11-12ft of water? I’m not sure a 10ft PP will anchor me that deep???

Why the sarcasm? And why does sponsorship matter?

Don’t get me wrong it’s suspect as well being first time poster, but to have an AM Bass pro guy on the forums sure adds to the content here if Wendell sticks around.

Perhaps @rangerz can chime in toast

TripleA that is when you buy a 12′ pp instead of the 10′.

dbright, do they make a 12′ PP? I don’t see them on their site unless I looked in the wrong spot.

I have not got to use the drift pads yet but plan on getting a set before I head to lake Erie

I want to get one for duck hunting lake vermillion.also when we fish bass tournaments on Minnetonka we fish deep water and the talon 12 footer would work ok but when the big waves start to push u around I’m not sure how that would work. But I could see this being a great shallow water anchor for spring crappie fishing getting into them shallows and just dropping the stix sounds better to me than throwing my anchor over clanging around and dealing with a rope and dirtying up the bottom for a bit. Or sight fishing bass in and around beds that would be key. But like I said I would like it more for duck hunting lake vermillion. This would make it much easier.

I’ve got a power pole and I like it. It has its limitations though. Was originally going to install a second Power Pole but have since reconsidered because of the lack of depth.

The next big upgrade for the boat will be a pair of EVO X20 and their power tilt brackets. With ten extra feet of depth they should fit our needs a little better up here. The clear lakes with deep weed lines here make it a little tough with only 8′ of anchor.
