Anyone currently up there. Anyone have any tips for those of us going up after the temp both air and water is dropping for eyes? Should this force the fish deep like mid summer or shallow and put the feed bag on being its fall? I would love to see peoples thoughts. Also any clue the effect on jumbos on leech when the temp drops?

    Ross,

Been out there every day. Perch are still going well. Plenty caught today…I heard one guy say 100’s. I believe it, but you have to sort through the fish to find anything close to jumbos. There are some fish around 13″ being caught. This is from the west end of the lake…there may be areas or pods of larger size perch to be had. The walleye bite has been pretty darn good the last couple days. Fished muskies today, but the “cold front” or cooling temps will likely turn the walleyes on! Shallow flats will be good as will some of the areas of deeper water near Trappers Landing. As the water cools even slightly I suspect Leech will be excellent for walleyes! Get on up here.

The bite was on-and-off today, they were biting in short windows. Typical for fall, you just need to be on fish when they feed up. We caught about 15 walleyes today, but it was a 7:30 am-7:30 pm grind. Cool tomorrow morning, we shall see.

We got out for about an hour yesterday on a wind blown shoreline and caught 5 in an hour. Today seems like the bite has cooled off some. I appreciate all the help and I will give an update tonight. Btw is everyone going deeper when the sun comes out?
