Possible 3 walleye limit on Mille Lacs

There is zero reason to ever close the lake completely to walleye fishing. Never was when they did. If catch and release hooking mortality kills to many fish we should all just start golfing instead.

Why does it always seem city people know what’s best for local residents. Come on up and live here, see first hand how this crap affects us.

I understand your frustrations. I have property 5 miles from the lake and have seen the changes around the lake first hand. I don’t know what the exact right answer is, but know the lake as far as fishing is pretty healthy right now.

Are you referring to the DNR or just city people in general?

What do city people have to do with the regs on ML?

I thought we were discussing the fishery and limit. When did this switch to a local resident discussion? What is this ‘crap’ you refer to?

Must have been an oversight. I own a Ram and live in the city. I’ll just see myself out.

One of them cidiots that owns a ram. You must have got a VPN to get on this outdoor forum. wink

I’m north of Mille lacs out in the sticks. But I’m not a local so I’m guessing my opinion doesn’t matter either.

I’m told by the DNR that there is support for opening the season with a 3 walleye limit along with the possibility that it will be shut down later in the year and there is also quite a bit of support for a 2 walleye limit initially to help insure fall fishing that feels an initial 3 walleye limit is too aggressive to start with. After internal discussions, the DNR will issue a press release the week of March 10 outlining the open water walleye regulations on Mille Lacs.

Have to negotiate a higher harvest number first.

Sorry guys, if it sounded like I was picking on all city people that’s not the case. When I talk about city people, I talk about all those flaming liberals that don’t wanna hurt the feelings of the wolves, or even the fish,. They don’t wanna make any waves with the poor downtrodden tribes, even though it’s not the local tribes that are raising all the stink it’s that one from Wisconsin. It’s just a total mess. My apologies for not explaining myself a little better.
