The panfish and perch bites are continuing to be steady, but as is always the case here in January they are not biting everywhere and in most cases the bite is very light/finicky most of the days. We are definitely seeing what seems to be the result of fishing pressure in some areas. While other areas there has been a solid foot and a half fish from the bottom up to 2 feet even with heavy pressure. (SEE NEXT TWO SENTENCES) Again, this year water temp and oxygen levels seem to be key. It is amazing the difference in water temp an underwater spring or artesian wells can make. and of course, current flow also makes a good difference in mixing of oxygen. Not doing much with walleye right now, but I have not been concentrating on them. I will be in walleye areas while guiding for perch over the next month and 1/2 and if we see anything great on the walleye side i will report it.
